Billing:
Q. What happens to my backups if my credit card is declined?
A. Since Geed Media is a pre-pay service, a declined credit card may prevent new backups from running. However, previous backups will remain accessible on our servers until they are set to expire (typically 60 days).
Q. What if I see a billing error?
A. Contact Geed Media LLC for support.
Technical:
Q. How long will it take to backup my files?
A. This depends on several factors:
The size of your files when compressed.
The bandwidth allotted by your ISP.
The bandwidth between your ISP and our servers.
Your computers performance.
Assuming you have a typical residential connection with 1.5mbps upload speeds, a rough estimate is about 10MB per minute.
To get more information you can use the speed test utility.
Q. How long will Geed Media store my files?
A. Each backup set will be retained for 30 or 60 days, depending on your preference, before being automatically deleted.
Q. Can I choose to delete my files from the Geed Media servers?
A. No, to protect you from a scenario where your original data and the online backup are deleted simultaneously, we do not allow backups to be deleted before the scheduled 30 or 60 day period.
However, at your request, we can disable access to your account and you may destroy the master encryption key, rendering our backup copy unreadable.
Q. I have very large files to backup or restore, can I arrange to mail disks?
A. This is not currently part of our standard service. However, if you have special requirements please feel free to contact us. We would be happy to help find the best solution for your data needs.
